KENAIDREAMS.COM BASS FISHERMEN....

To be honest, I have nothing against bass fishing so to speak (I'm not sure it really qualifies as a 'professional sport' - but that's another story). It's "bass fisherman" on the Kenai that I have a problem with. What do they think they’re doing up here on my river (locals forgive me)? Here’s the stereotype that I consider a "bass fisherman" as seen on the Kenai: twangy-talking idiots who have no respect for the fact that you’re already fishing in a spot. These guys can usually be found wearing camouflage waders and vests (are they duck hunters or fishermen?), bluehats, hipwaders, and are armed with oversized rods and spinning reels. They say they’re “baiting” their hooks when they put yarn on their hooks. They continually ask "what color are they biting on?". Usually they storm into a hole with 3 of their buddies, oblivious to the fact that they’re crowding out people who have been fishing there for hours. Every fish they catch yields a “yee-haw Otis- look at that beauty". Then they talk about how much that one weighed. For crying out loud this ain’t no place for the Shaw Grigsby show. Damn. Go home, you’re all just wasting real estate here on the Kenai. Now if you still feel offended by my portrayal of bass fisherman - well, too bad - go publish your own website and say what you want to say. Anyways, it's my opinion and this whole website is based upon my attitude of sarcasm and irreverence towards those who take up too much space on the river.
