Dream
It is the rare man who dares to dream
and then sets his life to follow them.
What is it that fills man’s minds
with visions of lands beyond his reach?
Of what are dreams made, these visions I see?
From where do they come, where do they lead?
I do things I cannot do, I see things I cannot know.
From where does this knowledge come
And when I wake, where does it go?
At night as I rustle and roll
My mind lives on, taking me to places beyond this world.
My visions are of peace and beauty and colors that speak
Man can fly, can change his shape
Bullets fly, cars are chased, I attempt to run
Yet my feet remain in place.
Every vision is enshrouded in a dark misty fog
I meet people who don’t exist
I love women whom I have never kissed
In all my life such things have I never done.
Yet, in my dreams I am the hero of every scene.
Is it possible that dreams are real and reality is the dream?
Yes, it is the rare man who dares to dream
and then sets his life to follow them.
MY COMPANION
There is not a day when he is not there
Loneliness my companion
Where did he come from and why is he here
Is he planning on staying long?
Loneliness my companion
He shadows me, follows me
Never giving me a moments rest
When no one else is there, he is
My heart is heavy and burdened
Life is a struggle without joy
No one to love, to hold, to hug
Except my constant companion
Most people would kill to have found a friend like this
Someone who is there day and night
But this friend is no friend indeed
Loneliness my companion ‘o when shall you leave?
OF WHAT IS MAN
Who is wise enough to read my heart
To know my mind and innermost thoughts?
Of what power is man able to know another?
Yet, we still say “I love you”.
Is not the heart of man driven by selfish desire?
Is not the flesh master of our fate?
Can man really control himself?
Yet, we still say “I love another”.
A DAY AT THE BEACH
Once upon a time we held hands and kissed
We walked arm in arm on the beach
Gazing into eachother, forever young, forever in love.
Eyes bluer than the sea, I beheld you
Your heart was mine, and mine in turn belonged to you.
I can still see that day, not so long ago
Two youngsters, so in love, strolling on the cool sands
Waves thundering in the distance
Gulls overhead striving against the wind.
As we walked love was in the air
Your lips touching my lips, never wanting to let go
Even now I can still feel them, so soft and warm
Pressing against me with a taste of love
That only you could give me.
We walked this way all afternoon
Two people, man and woman, in love like no others.
We shared our thoughts and desires
We were one against the world.
Then like all days this one started to end
The sky clouded and turned a brilliant red
The sun dipping down beyond the horizon
We watched it go, but there was nothing we could do
And then it was gone.
IF I WAS A FISH (Author Unknown)
If I was a fish
I’d want to be a bass
And then I’d jump up on a rock
And slide down on my.....

THE LADY
When I look into her eyes
I often feel that I am staring into the face of an angel.
She has such beautiful eyes,
passionate and inviting.
There is a glow about her face,
that draws me to marvel at her beauty,
until I become conscious that I am staring too long.
I die to touch her,
to put my arm around her,
to feel her hair in my hand
and next to my cheek.
I desire to touch her lips,
ever so tenderly with mine.
Yet I dare not...
ever.
To look into her eyes for all eternity,
and to know that I had the permission to do so,
is my dream.
She is such a beautiful creature,
her heart is of gold.
She walks the walk of a lady.
In her, vanishes all the hate and rage of the world,
consumed by her glorious innocence.
I am honored to be so close,
to view this wonder.
My heart poundeth every time my eyes meet hers.
If only I could tell her.
I dare not....
ever.
I SEE
I see what I want to see
Sometimes seeing that which isn’t there
Reading above, below, and beneath the lines
Making judgments that are somewhat in error
Oh, what power has the human soul
To see beyond this very life
To grasp truths and treasures unknown
I see what I want to see
And in those moments so private and bold
My heart reaches out searching for truth
Mine eyes have fixated on streets of gold
Sometimes seeing that which isn’t there
Yes, it is the soul that drives the man
In his search for truth throughout time
I decipher the meanings that I have found
Reading above, below, and beneath the lines
Oh, the meaning of life is a fleeting thing
Bringing answers that are too hard to bear
So I trust my eyes, my ears, my heart
Making judgments that are somewhat in error
